Wet road wiped across my windscreen
Sprayed on, wiped off, sprayed on, wiped off,
The scene changing with each cycle
As the car in front leaves its churned up memories
In dirty droplets full of rain
And tyre rubber and tarmac
And countless specks and smuts
From wherever it has travelled
And also those it followed:
History hidden in a dirty film,
Sprayed on, wiped off, sprayed on, wiped off.

How lucky you are to have history peeking through droplets of rain and splattered windscreens. Here in Australia, we don’t have a lot of history OR rain. We have drought and with drought comes hardship for people, animals and plants. Yet, as long as we personally do what we think is right as a balance for ourselves and the environment, then there should be no guilt. And without guilt, we can get on with our lives the best we can and to be happy and let’s face it, happiness is everything. I truly believe that we don’t use our eyes correctly. Beauty (and happiness) is within, and beauty is not just ‘beautiful’. Let’s save ourselves – as well as the environment. Mara
